Muthuthanthri to lead Sri Lanka

Former Thomian and Havies skipper, Sudarshan Muthuthanthri will lead the Sri Lanka rugby outfit for this month’s Asian Rugby championship which will be worked off in Malaysia from 8 -14 May. Muthuthanthri will have the Kandy scrum half, Roshan Weeraratne as his deputy on tour.

Leading club players such as Fazil Marija, Richard Dharmapala, Srinarth Sooriyabandara and Shehan Pathirana were not available for selections due to their injuries which was sustained in the Inter club league and Clifford Cup. Fazil anyhow got involved with the team looking after the three quarter line on tour. Former Kandy SC Head Coach Johan Taylor will be the Head coach of the touring outfit having successfully taken Sri Lanka to win in Singapore and Philippines on previous occasions.
