Nalanda, Mahamaya champs at inaugural Sir Henry Steel Olcott Memorial Relay Carnival

Nalanda College Colombo and Mahamaya College Kandy bagged the boys’ and girls’ championships at the inaugural Sir Henry Steel Olcott Memorial Relay Carnival organised by the Rahula College OBA and held at the Uyanwatta Stadium last Sunday.

Boys’ relay teams from Ananda College Colombo, Nalanda College Colombo, Dharmaraja College Kandy, Mahinda College Galle, Dharmashoka College Ambalangoda, Maliyadeva College Kurunegala, Dharmapala College Pannipitiya, Rahula College Matara and girls’ teams from Visakha College Colombo, Musaeus College Colombo, Mahamaya College Kandy, Sangamiththa College Galle, Maliyadeva Girls School Kurunegala, Sujatha College Matara, Dharmapala College Pannipitiya and Dharmasoka College Ambalangoda participated at the meet.

MP Buddhika Pathirana was the guest of honour at the opening ceremony in the morning and Minister for Southern Development Sagala Rathnayaka was the chief guest at the awards ceremony in the evening.

Boys Under 12: 1 Rahula College Matara; 2 Dharmaraja College Kandy; 3 Dharmasoka College Ambalangoda and Dharmapala College Pannipitiya

Boys Under 14: 1 Dharmaraja College Kandy; 2 Dharmapala College Pannipitiya; 3 Ananda College Colombo and Maliyadeva College Kurunegala

Boys Under 16: 1 Mahinda College Galle; 2 Dharmapala Vidyalaya Pannipitiya; 3 Rahula College Matara

Boys Under 18: 1 Maliyadeva College Kurunegala and Nalanda College Colombo; 3 Ananda College Colombo

Boys Under 20: 1 Nalanda College Colombo; 2 Rahula College Matara; 3 Dharmaraja College Kandy

Girls Under 12: 1. Musaeus College Colombo Colombo and Maliyadeva Girls School Kurunegala; 3. Mahamaya College Kandy and Sujatha College Matara
