Nalin elected as new President of Nationalised Services Cricket Association

Nalin Aponso the most senior Vice President of NSCA was unanimously elected its new President at the Special Annual General Meeting of the Nationalised Services Cricket Association (NSCA) which is a pioneer institution and consists of the semi government sector to promote national cricket through a history of more than 40 years. The special general meeting had been convened to appoint a new President following the resignation of the former president Dr. Priyath B. Wickrama from the post of President NSCA.
Aponso being a prominent cricket commentator has constantly served as Vice President of NSCA for the past 10 years. The project to develop the NSCA playground was put under the direct supervision of Aponso and at present the project has reached a great deal of success nearing completion. Also representing the NSCA as an Executive Member for the last two years at SLC, he made a dedicated performance in getting immense assistance and support from the Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) towards the infrastructure development of the NSCA. UdayaImasha – a Senior Official of the Bank of Ceylon (BOC) acts as the Secretary of the NSCA and the office bearers elected at the previous AGM continue to serve in the same capacity for the next two years.
The members of the NSCA also made it an occasion to convey gratitude to Dr. Wickrama who served as its President for the past seven years for his dedicated performance in promoting and developing the institution to its present standard.
