A tour organised by the Nationalised Services Cricket Association (NSCA) will be take place from 3-9 May in Dubai, UAE.
NSCA, which organises such tours every two years, has obtained the approval of the Ministry of Sports. As an affiliated body of Sri Lanka Cricket, NSCA has also obtained the approval of Sri Lanka Cricket for the tour. The objective of taking part at such tournaments is to provide international exposure to cricketers of affiliated NSCA members. NSCA consists of government banks, statutory boards and semi-government institutions. This year’s NSCA tournament is represented by one Division I team, two Division II teams and one veteran team. The touring NSCA teams are managed by Vice President Roshan Yapa and Secretary Udaya Imalsha, who will act as his deputy.
NSCA President Nalin Aponso said that NSCA was established in 1967 and will celebrate 50 years of operation this year. It has planned a number of events to uplift the standards of NSCA by providing more facilities to member clubs and institutions.
