The 5th consecutive Nations Trust American Express Golf Extravaganza concluded at the Royal Colombo Golf Club recently with the participation of 230 players. A major portion of the participants were customers of Nations Trust Bank and American Express Card members.
This event is held annually with the objective of interacting and enhancing customer relationships across the diverse business areas of the bank.
Nations Leasing together with United Motors had an exclusive offer for the participants of this tournament for the purchase of brand new Mitsubishi Montero and Outlander vehicles.
Jane Hong was the ladies winner and Roshini Sangani was runner up in this category.
H.M Samaranayake emerged winner in the senior’s category whilst Christopher Dias became the runner up. The Men’s A category winner was Zhuang Lizhou and runner up Air Marshall Harsha Abeywickrama, Men’s Category B winner was Chandana Gunasekera and runner up Ranjith Jayawardena and Men’s Category C winner was Ramesh Carvalho and runner up Jeremy Huxtable.
Dr. Priyath Bandu Wickrama clinched the overall Winner title for the year 2012 of the Nations Trust American Express Golf Extravaganza and walked away with a handsome bill wipe-out on his American Express Card to the value of Rs. 50,000.
Special recognition awards were presented to 15 of the Banks customers who scored the highest Stableford points, out of which the first three were eligible for cash awards in terms of a bill wipe-out and the others were rewarded with special gifts.
The winners of the Banks special awards with the highest Stable ford points were Sarath Sirisena in first place, Dr. Thurairajah in second place and Gerard Fernando in third place.
For the first time in this annual tournament the bank also introduced a team award category where the team with the highest total Stableford points was eligible for trophies and special team prizes. The winners of the team award were Priath Fernando, Trevine Fernandopulle, Lal Wickramathunga, Rohith Fonseka and Primal Wijeyanayake.
Commenting on this event Deputy CEO Renuka Fernando said, “It is really nice to see an increase in the number of our customers participating in this tournament year on year. Events of this nature further reinforce the customer relationships we have built over the years with our valued customers across the bank.”
The evening concluded with a prize giving that rewarded the best players in the tournament followed by fellowship, cocktails and music.
