New captain for Sri Lanka women's cricket team

The cricket authority, Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has named Dilhani Manodara as the captain of Sri Lanka women's national cricket team.

She will lead the Sri Lankan women's cricket team in the upcoming Bangladesh women’s tour of Sri Lanka.

Manodara replaces Sashikala Siriwardena who announced her decision to resign from the captaincy yesterday. She cited personal reasons for her resignation.

Sandamali Dolawatte has been named the vice-captain of the women's national cricket team. The Bangladesh Women's team will be playing a 3-match one day series against the Sri Lankan Women's team starting on  11 October 2011 at Dambulla.

The visitors are expected to arrive in the country on Sunday.

The squad for the Bangladesh tour: Dilhani Manodhara (Captain), Sandamali Dolawatte (Vice Captain), Yasodha Mendis, Inoka Galagedara, Chamari Attapattu, Suvini de Alwis, Sashikala Siriwardena, Eshani Lokusuriya, Chamari Seneviratne, Prasadhini Weerakkody, Sherena Ravikumar, Sripali Weerakkody, Oshadhi Ranasinghe, Inoka Ranaweera.
