Nilfer to coach Army

Former Kingswood, Kandy SC, Navy SC player and former Isipathana, Navy SC Head Coach and current Head Coach of Joes Rugby, Nilfer Ibrahim was appointed to take charge of the Army SC rugby outfit in the 2017/2018 rugby season.

Nilfer after representing Randles Hill School played for his home won club, Kandy SC for 10 years before crossing over to Navy SC where he ended his club playing career. He was a sevens sensation for the country representing since 1998.

He started his coaching career at Kandy SC in sevens rugby before crossing over to school rugby. He started with Dharmaraja College and moved to Kingswood College. He shifted gears to Trinity before crossing over to Isipathana producing some champion outfits. He also coached Sri Lanka sevens outfit at the Asian Rugby Sevens series bring them in to number 3 position in a short span of time.
