Former Thomian, Havelocks and Sri Lanka Sevens player Wasim Thajudeen will be remembered when the Wasim Thajudeen Foundation organises an Old Boys encounters between the Old Boys of S. Thomas’ College Mount Lavinia and St. Thomas Prep School at the CR&FC Grounds on 8 August.
This will be the first time a social gathering of former players, Old Boys, Old Boys’ families and well-wishers of both institutions will be held. The event will be held as part of a series of annual encounters between Old Boys from the two schools under the ‘Pride of Origin’ Series, a tagline which is demonstrative of the interdependent and interwoven rugby traditions of the two schools. In a bid to build interest and strengthen sporting ties between the two brother schools, the organisers have introduced an Under 16 encounter between the teams of S. Thomas’ College Mount Lavinia and St. Thomas Prep School which will serve as a curtain-raiser for this event.
The schedule for the event will be as follows:
There will also be special features and events for children, creating a child-friendly atmosphere enjoyable for the whole family, making the event one not to be missed by any rugby-loving family.
