The inaugural “Bradby Golf” encounter between Old Trinitians and Old Royalists took place at the Victoria Golf and Country Course on 14 May during the morning hours. An ideal fellowship leading to the evening’s Bradby encounter.

The golf tournament was evenly contested by the old boys of both schools. The old Trinitians hosted this tournament which was sponsored by Sinhaputhra Finance PLC an aptly named after the well-known “Captain of Industry” as the G. C. Wickremasinghe trophy. G. C. Wickremasinghe was a member of the Royal College rugby team that was dubbed the “Dream Team” (1951 and 1952), and at age 83, he continues to play a full round of golf.
B. Sathies from Old Trinitians won the overall championship with a gross score of 25 points. The G. C. Wickremasinghe Trophy was secured by the Kandy lads with 126 points against the Old Royalists on 123 points on a Stableford Best Four Cards aggregation.
