The fifth annual Oman Air Golf Tournament took place over the last two days at the Victoria Golf and Country Resort at Rajawaella.
More than 100 golfers took part with more than half a dozen overseas participants as well. Among the Ladies, Luies Parson won the Closest to the Pin award with Noel Joseph winning the same prize men’s category.
The trophy for the ‘Longest Drive’ went to Sumithra Ukwatta in the ladies’ division and Srimath Dias Perera in the men’s category. In the Gross event category, Niloo Jayatilake was the star player with Jeoff Campbell winning the men’s segment.
The Overall Nett Winner was Tony Udagedera with Vidush Rajendran ending as the runner-up. Speaking to Daily FT, Country Manager, Sri Lanka and Maldives-Oman Air Gihan Karunaratne said he hoped to see more overseas players taking part in the coming years and wanted to promote the Victoria Golf and Country Resort as one of the best in Asia.
