Country Manager – Sri Lanka and Maldives Gihan Karunaratne at the last Oman Air Golf Classic
Oman Air has received an unprecedented number of registrations for its upcoming Golf Classic 2016at the world-class Victoria Golf and Country Resort in Kandy.
The tournament will take place on 3 September and will see the participation of over 75 golfers from Sri Lanka and abroad. The Oman Air Golf Classic is an 18-hole, stableford tournament which is fast becoming one of the most prestigious golfing events in the country.
Last year’s tournament saw the formidable Tony Udagedara emerging as the overall winner with Vidush Rajendran emerging as the runner-up of the tournament. Udagedara clinched the trophy by making a final combined two round score of 80 with a handicap of 13. Rajendran secured second place with a handicap of 26 and a total score of 77.This year Vidush will be back to compete in the tournament along with Niloo Jayatilleke who will defend her title of Ladies Gross Winner. There will be also a variety of prizes on offer including a voucher from Oman Air worth Rs. 100,000 for the Overall Winner of the tournament.
