Architects will be playing their own World Cup cricket in Cochin, Kerala India, this week. The Sri Lanka Institute of Architects (SLIA) will also participate in this inaugural match.
The team of 16 players, who will take part in this ‘Goodwill Cup’ tournament, will be captained by well-known architect Thusitha Illnagamage; and the local team is sponsored by Orange Electric. The cricket tournament is organised by the Indian Institute of Architects in line with the young Architects’ festival.
The Sri Lankan team consists of five players above the age of 40, 10 players between the ages of 30 and one player below 30. India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, UAE and Sri Lanka will take part in the two-day tournament.
