The Sri Lanka Super Series 2014 Champ-ionship motor race series conducted its fourth round at the Katukurunda Air Base on 14 September.
The conditions at Katukurunda were cloudy and the previous night’s rain had dampened the tarmac.
The meet attracted a record number of car and bike entries. Even though the famous SL GT category witnessed a lack of entries compared to previous meets, the 28 events conducted kept spectators at the edge of their seats right along.
The motorcycle races were equally thrilling and also featured foreign riders. Rohitha Rajapaksa stole the limelight in the car events, winning the SL-N 1000cc event and the much-coveted SL GT up to 3500cc race2 while Maduranga Caldera was the definite highlight in the motorcycle races, winning three major titles.
