The Pakistan Army Volleyball team, which was in Sri Lanka to participate in the Inter-Regiment Volleyball Championship 2016, won the championship against the Sri Lankan Light Infantry team.
Commandant Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force Major General Channa Goonetilleke was the Chief Guest on the occasion and distributed prizes to the winning and runners-up teams.
The Pakistan Army Volleyball Team took part as a foreign country for the first time in the history of this championship, on the invitation of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force.
The Inter-Regiment Volleyball Championship 2016 was organised by the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force. The championships serve as the launch pad for national and international recognition of talented sportsmen and women, besides generating healthy sporting competitions.
