Pakistan Golf Tournament winds down in Colombo

  The second edition of the Pakistan Golf Tournament was held at the Royal Colombo Golf Club on 28 February, with prominent Sri Lankan golfers and members of the diplomatic community taking part. It was an 18-hole tournament in which players competed for exciting prizes, both in the Gentlemen’s and Ladies’ categories. The golf dinner and prize-giving ceremony for the tournament was held on the same evening at the Colombo Courtyard Hotel. The High Commissioner of Pakistan in Sri Lanka, Maj. Gen. (R) Qasim Qureshi, gave away the prizes. The winner in the Ladies category was Roshani Sangani while the runner-up was Louise Parson. In the men’s category the winner was the Ambassador of Myanmar, Min Thein Zan, while the runner-up prize was won by Duminda Fernando of Sri Lankan Airlines. The winners in the Ladies’ and Gentlemen’s categories won business class return air tickets to Pakistan. Novelty prizes were won by Y.K. Chung, Sharon Hall, Wijegunaratne and Amal Tudawe. The High Commissioner appreciated the cooperation and support extended by the Royal Colombo Golf Club, sponsors and the organising committee. The tournament was co-sponsored by Sri Lankan Airlines and leading Pakistani business groups Habib Bank Ltd., Muslim Commercial Bank Ltd., Midas Safety and Packages Lanka.
