Pakistan’s women team to Sri Lanka for SAFF Championship

KARACHI: Pakistan’s women football team is off to Colombo, Sri Lanka to participate in the SAFF Women’s Championship from September 7-16. Pakistan is in Group B with Nepal, Maldives and Afghanistan, according to the draws unveiled by the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF). India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Bhutan are in Group A.

The event will be held under round robin system and a leading and runner up team from each group will make it to the semifinals to be Sri Lanka’s Lesly Kumara Dobagoda Liyanage competes in the men’s High Jump Final F42 during the London 2012 Paralympic Games at the Olympic Stadium in London, REUTERS held on September 14. The final will be played on September 16.

Pakistan will face Nepal in their opener on September 8 and Afghanistan on September 10 followed by their last group game against Maldives on September 12.
