Pan Asia Bank beats HNB at Mercantile Indoor Cricket Finals

Defending champions Pan Asia Bank successfully retained its championship title by beating HNB at the Mercantile Indoor Cricket Tournament held recently at the Austasia sports complex, Thalawathugoda.

Pan Asia Bank team played five matches against teams from NTB, HNB, Expo Lanka, Aitken Spence and SS Garment Lanka to reach the semi finals where it beat Expo Lanka. At the finals against HNB, Pan Asia Bank batting first, scored 69 runs at the end of the 16 overs and managed to limit the HNB team to only 65 runs to clinch the title.
Thrishan Fernando of Pan Asia Bank was awarded ‘The Man of the Match’.
The Mercantile Indoor Cricket Tournament was open to all mercantile sector organisations and was organised by Ceylon Indoor Cricket Association. Last year, Pan Asia Bank claimed the title by defeating HSBC at the finals.
