Power Horn challenge trophy by Hameed Al Husseinie College to kick off

The group of ‘80 of the Hameed Al Husseinie College Colombo, organised the under 19 all island inter school invitation football tournament, ‘Power Horn challenge trophy’, foe the sixth consecutive year.

Starting off on 26 January the tournament will go on until 10 February 2013, at the Sugathadasa Stadium, Colombo.

Mansoor, together with the organizing committee chairman Lahir Salih, Group of 80 President M.H.M. Iqbal and Sri Lanka Schools Football Association Secretary Shanthi M. Jayasuriya

The number of the schools taking part for the tournament island wide would be 10, namely;  Ananda College Colombo , St. Joseph College Anuradhapura, St. Benedict’s College Colombo, Hindu College Colombo, Hameed Al Hussaine College Colombo, Wesley College Colombo, Holy Cross College Kaluthra, Al Hilal Central College Negombo, Lumbini College Colombo, Royal College Colombo, Al Hikma College Colombo, Zahira College Gampola, De Mezenod College Kadana, T.B. Jayah Zahira College Colombo, Thurstan College Colombo and Zahira College Mawanella.

The champion team will receive the Challenge Trophy, Champion Trophy, medal and certificates while, runners up teams will receive a Trophy, medals and certificates. 

The tournament will also award the best goal keeper, highest goal scorer, most valuable player and most popular player, of the tournament.  

The main sponsor of this tournament, Power Horn General Manager M.M. Jainulabdeen presented the sponsorship to the Principal of the College, M.J.M. Munsoor, at the press conference held at the college hall recently.

Organising Committee Chairman Lahir Salih and Sri Lanka School Football Association Secretary Shanthi M. Jayasuriya also addressed the media.
