Prajapathi Balika Vidyalaya Ambalangoda retained the under 19 Southern Province Schools Netball crown by defeating Sacred heart Convent Galle by 22 points to 8 at the at the Uyanwatte Stadium Matara yesterday (8th). Sangamiththa Balika Vidyalaya Galle defeated St. Mary’s Convent Matara to secure third spot.
Prajapathi BV receiving two walk overs defeated Sujatha Vidyalaya Matara and Sangamiththa Balika Vidyala Galle to reach the final while Sacred Heart Convent defeated Ganegoda KV, Magedara MV and St. Mary’s Convent Matara (26/15) to reach the final.
The Prajapathi Balika team led by H.D. Mansdira Charuni comprised of K.B. Achini Madhushika, M.W. Nikeshala Heshani, Gihani Kavindi, K.D. Supuni Dilhara, D. Nimesha Divyanjali, P.H. Janani Ishmira and K.A. Yureshika Madhuwanthi. The team is coached by G. Nadika Dilrukshi while K. Dulmini Kahandawela and Pramila Mendis are the teachers in charge.
The Sacred Heart Convent team was led by Yahani Wathsala and comprised of Tharushi Rukshani, Nimasha Nuwangi, Uthpala Sathsarani, Sachini shehani Isheda Chathiba and Chathuri Apsara.
The Heartians are coached by Dhalia de Silva while Miranda Thalagahagoda and W.A.R. Wicjkremarachchi are the teachers in charge.
