The Golf Tournament organised by the American Chamber of Commerce in Sri Lanka (AmCham) in partnership with the Royal Colombo Golf Club (RCGC) for the 13th year was held on 25 August at RCGC. NDB bank was the Platinum Sponsor for this event while Airtel partnered as the telecommunication partner.
The tournament was held under 8 categories namely, Division A, Division B, Division C, Seniors, Ladies, Sponsor, AmCham Member and Squad Player with two special awards by the Sponsors as NDB trophy-Back 9 and Airtel Trophy-Front 9.
Standing in for the President AmCham Vijaya Ratnayake, Prasath Nanayakkara, Vice President AmCham stated that the event was an immense success and they believe that all who participated and partnered AmChamhave experienced a truly memorable day of Golf and fellowship that followed. He further thanked the sponsors, especially NDB bank and Airtel Sri Lanka for coming forward to support this endeavour. CGC Vice Captain Nimal Piyaratne Standing in for RCGC Captain Priath Fernando together with Organising Committee Chairman Primal Wijayanayake shared common views on the tournament stating that AmCham RCGC Golf Tournament has always attracted a large crowd due to its objectives in supporting the needy children in society.
The organisers believe that this tournament has brought together organisations that are ready to reach out with sincerity to uplift the lives of needy children for a better tomorrow. Giving them a hand in making their dreams and aspirations come true is a prime objective of this tournament. The organisers state that sponsors, golfers, members of AmChamand other well wishers have always supported this endeavour and given them the strength to go forward with these CSR initiatives.
Commenting on the bank’s partnership of the recently concluded AmCham RCGC Golf tournament, NDB Chief Operating Officer Indrajit Wickramasinghe said, “The tournament was an immense success and we believe that the sponsorship enabled NDB to share another stimulating experience with its Privilege Banking clientele.
