The Sri Lanka Association of Printers with the membership of printers and all associated with the printing, packaging, graphic design and the media fraternity, celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Printers Sixes soft-ball Cricket Carnival at the NCC Grounds on 23 May from 7 a.m.
A total of 43 teams from among the member companies of the Sri Lanka Association of Printers will vie for the prestigious ‘Printers Sixes Challenge Trophy’. The winners of the 9th Printers Sixes Challenge Trophy 2014, ‘Shore To Shore’ are the defending Champions who beat Intermart Printers Ltd. in the Final.
There will be an entertaining program which includes fun and frolic for children and families of the Print Industry Family! To celebrate the 10th consecutive playing of the soft-ball knock-out Cricket Sixes, there will be a competition to select the ‘Printers Queen’ and ‘Printers King’ open to all ‘Ladies and Gentlemen’ eligible as members of the print fraternity.
The display of strength will be tested with the ‘Tog-O-War’ contest as well. There will be special items for the children of the ‘print industry’ which will include pony rides, bouncer, face painting an art competition amidst a full day of happy activity.
The main focus however will be a professionally managed soft-ball cricket tournament and an exhibition ladies match followed by a feature challenge between the Printers Team pitted against the Associate Member Suppliers Team.
The print industry with a work force far in access of 15,000 employees and the Printers Association members count at 498, expect a gathering exceeding 1,000 participants at the 10th anniversary Cricket Sixes tournament at the NCC Grounds on Saturday 23 May.
The Platinum Sponsors for the event are Metropolitan Office, Colorcroma, Papercom, DIC Lanka and JDC Printing Technologies. The Gold Sponsors are AG International, Aitken Spence Printing and AP Enterprises. Special events for children including pony rides is sponsored by Premadasa Riding School.
The Media Sponsors are Wijeya Newspapers and Express Newspapers for the most eagerly-awaited ‘Printers Sixes’.
There is much hype and buzz among the printers at this time and the ‘players’ are working out to win the coveted ‘Printers Sixes Challenge Trophy 2015’ in this and mark year!
