A preliminary squad of 20 national players began training at the R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium on Thursday morning.

The squad travelled to Kandy yesterday to continue training at a higher altitude ahead of their tour of England, and will engage in training sessions, followed by a two-day game at the Pallakelle International Cricket Stadium today and tomorrow – whilst training sessions will be conducted concurrently at the nets.

A statement issued by Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) reported that the weather in Kandy had remained favourable in the past weeks and would remain so for the next few days, giving the squad ample opportunity to benefit from the climes.
