Rahul Karunathilake to lead Trinity rugby team

Fourth year rugby colours-holder, lanky second rower Rahul Karunathilake will lead Trinity College Kandy through their 2015/2016 rugby season. 

Karunathilake will have the huge responsibility of bringing back the Bradby Shield, which they lost last year after four years. 

Former Ireland Test player Eric Miller will be the team’s rugby consultant with former Sri Lanka and Kandy Skipper Sean Wijesinghe and Saliya Kumara handling the side. Wijesinghe will look after the forwards while Kumara will be in charge of the three quarters. Trinity’s 1985 skipper Manoj Jayatissa will be the team manager once more. 

Karunathilake is already in the junior national squad and will feature in the final selections encounter at the Royal Sports Complex today.
