The sole T20 match between Sri Lanka and New Zealand was abandoned last night due to incessant rain at Pallakelle.

New Zealand who were put to bat first after Sri Lanka won the toss managed to score only 74 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the shortened innings of 14 overs. In reply Sri Lanka was 6 without loss after two hours when rain interrupted the match.

Kiwi top order batsmen failed to score as most of the runs were made by the lower order. Number 9 T. Southee top scored with 21 off 10 balls. Akila Dananjaya, Nuwan Kulasekara and Thisara Perera took two wickets each for Sri Lanka.
