Dharmaraja College, who are already out of the race for a place in the top four in their group, will want to prove a point when they meet the unsettled Peterites at the Bogambara Stadium today (8 April).
Although the Peterites beat Isipathana they did not produce their expected high standard of rugby in the other four encounters letting down their supporters. They were far below standard against the Joes in their last outing and giving major concerns for the team management of the performance this season.
Playing away in Kandy will be tough for the Bambalapitiya lads. Selvaraja and Theekshana will be their main players to watch out for in Kandy. Former Isipathana player and Kandy Team Manager Kapila Silva, who is coaching the Rajans, will want to prove a point by ending things on a winning note.
With these three games this weekend the first round will come to an end and will see a two-week break before the second round kicks off on 22 April. The top four teams in each group will play across the other group while the last two in each group will move in to the Plate segment. A win for Rajans and Antonians could keep the Peterites out of the second round. (SJ)
