The annual motor rally organised by the Old Boys Association and the 91 group of the Dharmaraja College Kandy will be held on 14 June 2014.
This year’s event which will be held for the fifth consecutive year will have two segments open for motor vehicles and motor cycles driven across a track of 100 km within the Kandy district. The rally starting point will be the KMC Car Park and the event will conclude at the Oak Ray Regency in Gatambe, Peradeniya. According to the organising committee, well-known rally car drivers and riders along with their navigators in the country will take part in this event, which has received over 50 submissions already.
The funds raised from the event will be utilised to provide the much wanted scholarships for some identified students in grade five with financial difficulties in addition to annual support extended to another school in the district, which badly in need of building and healthcare facilities.
Official sponsors of the event will be Peoples Bank, ICBT, Diana Biscuits, Bowatte Ayrweda, and the Carlton Sports Network (CSN).
