A 148-ball 120 by left-hand batsman Raminda Pravinath and a match bag of nine wickets by Praveen Madushan helped St. Thomas College Matara register a first innings win in their under-19 Division II cricket encounter with Siri Piyarathna College Padukka played at the Uyanwatta Stadium.
Praveen Madushan and Hashin Dilmal captured four wickets each to restrict Siri Piyarathana to a first innings score of 99. STC continuing from their overnight score of 111/3 declared their first essay at 265/8 at lunch. Raminda Pravinath scored 120 runs off 148 balls with 12 boundaries and three sixes and together with Mihisal Amoda 31 off 107 balls shared a 126-run partnership for the fourth wicket. Tharusha Kavinda contributed with 52 off 52 balls to boost the score.
Siri Piyarathana, with a deficit of 166 runs, did well to bat out 62 overs and post 172/8 at stumps. Prabash Maduranga 58 and Sampath Wijesoiriya 51 registered half tons while Praveen Madushan captured five wickets to end with a match bag of nine.
