Ransilu and Dhanushka stamp their class in Florida

Sri Lankan power lifter Ransilu Jayathilaka stamped his class when he cleared an overall weight of 760 kg in the 120 kg event to become the first Sri Lankan to achieve this rare feat.

Jayathilaka, competing in the 120 kg weight class at the IPF World Powerlifting Championship held in Orlando, Florida, was ranked 13th. Ransilu cleared 292.5 kg in the Squat and 310 kg in the deadlift with an overall score of 760 kg.  In the deadlift he was ranked 9th. Dhanushka Kodikara, who also participated in this event, finished 13th in his segment.
