Red Bull Tuk It— from the city to the hills

Red Bull Tuk It is a rally style challenge that utilises Sri Lanka’s most used form of transportation — the tuk-tuk, while allowing teams to take in the iconic beauty of Sri Lanka. Two hundred teams of three will descend upon the start point, Thalduwa Kelani Valley Sports Ground on 8 April, to participate in the first edition of Red Bull Tuk It.

“Red Bull Tuk It’s activities and event course is guaranteed fun. Not necessarily physical, but by accomplishing tasks which are a combination of active adventure, getting to grips with tasks of local traditions and then the ultimate satisfaction of reaching the end brings the essence of what the project is about,” said Race Director of Red Bull Tuk It Sean Hameed. “The race will be done entirely in the tuk-tuk driven by your team and will be packed with excitement.”

This year’s competition will begin on 8 April at 8 p.m. where teams will be judged on the creativity and design of both their team and tuk-tuk. Then at one minute past midnight on 9 April, 200 teams will set off with one aim — get to their first clue and complete the challenge. The course will consist of two stages, with 10 and five mystery challenges to be completed respectively in each stage.
