Ritzbury powers Int’l Schools’ Athletic Championship for seventh year

Ritzbury, the number one selling brand of chocolates in Sri Lanka, sponsored the International Schools’ Athletic Championship (ISAC) for the seventh consecutive year. ISAC, which attracted over 3,500 athletes from 22 international schools, was held at the Sugathadasa Stadium recently with the Chairman of Gateway and Founder of ISAC R.I.T Alles gracing the final day’s awards ceremony as the Chief Guest.

Commenting on the sponsorship, Nilupul De Silva, Assistant Marketing Manager of CBL Foods International, said: “Ritzbury, being the market leader and trendsetter in the chocolate industry, is very happy to be associated with the International Schools’ Athletic Championship. We see this event as a stepping stone for future champions. The sponsorship of the meet symbolises Ritzbury’s commitment to give children an opportunity to develop their skills and perform to their full potential. ISAC has played a major role in identifying budding Sri Lankan athletes and grooming them into becoming sporting ambassadors for Sri Lanka.”

During the 2013 International School Athletic Meet, Lyceum International School, Wattala emerged the overall winner, while Gateway College, Colombo came in second place.

Shanika Devmini Fernando from Gateway College won the Best Overall Ritzbury Champion Trophy in the girls’ category and Udantha Bandara also from Gateway College won the Best Overall Ritzbury Champion Trophy in the boys’ category.

Ritzbury has been continuously supporting Sri Lanka’s sports and is the regular sponsor of the Junior National Squash Championship, Inter International Schools Soccer Tournament and the Sir John Tarbet Inter Schools Athletic Meet.
