Royal College Old Boys Soccer Carnival returns

The Royal College Group of ‘97 will host its sixth Royal College Soccer Carnival on the 25 September from 1 p.m. onwards at the CR&FC, Colombo 07. The tournament is open to all old royalists and over 20 teams have confirmed participation this year.

This year’s event coincides with the 125th Anniversary of the Royal College Union (RCU). The success of the event organised in previous years has made this an annual event on the RCU event calendar.

The 2016 Royal Soccer Carnival includes changes to the format of the tournament from previous editions, allowing more teams to participate with the objective of maximising the camaraderie, fun, and enjoyment among participants. The tournament, which incidentally coincides with the ongoing 2016 FIFA Futsal World Cup in Colombia, is structured as an inter-batch 5-A-Side (Futsal) tournament and is divided into two age groups namely the Senior Category (over 35 years) and Junior Category (35 years and below). Old boys of Royal College, their families and well-wishers are invited to drop in at the CR&FC on Sunday to cheer on the teams and be part of this exciting event. There will be entertainment and refreshments to delight participants and visitors. The proceeds from the event will be channeled towards the continuous development of Royal College.
