Royal-Mahinda clash for Albert Edirisinghe Challenge Trophy tomorrow

The football clash between Royal College, Colombo and Mahinda College, Galle for the prestigious ‘Albert Edirisinghe Challenge Trophy’ will be played for the 23rd season this year. The first leg was held in Galle recently and was a draw. The second leg will be played at Race Course Grounds in Colombo on 27 November from 3:45 p.m. onwards with the participation of parents, distinguished old boys, students and football fans.  The defending champions Royal College leads the tally by winning this prestigious Trophy 19 times while Mahinda College has won twice.

The football team of Royal College will be led by Chathura Avishka while the Mahinda College will be captained by P. Weerasooriya.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Harsha De Silva will be the Chief Guest and former football legend P.D. Sirisena will be the Guest of Honour.
