Royal ready to roll over Rajans

Rajans will need to come up with a good team effort to stop Royal from Winning By Shamseer Jaleel Royal College will be playing their first away game at this year’s Singer League Under 20 Rugby encounter when they lock horns with Dharmaraja at the Bogambara Stadium in Kandy today. Kick-off is scheduled for 4.30 pm. Royal beat St. Anthony’s 38-10 in their opening encounter and then overcame a spirited Science outfit 37-22 in their second encounter. The Rajans lost to Trinity 37-50 and S. Thomas’ Mount Lavinia 26-39 in their last outing. Royal hold the edge with a heavier set of forwards who have been outstanding this season. The Rajans will need to play as a team and not rely too much on their few top performers. Dinka Peris will referee this game. In another encounter today the Katugastota Antonians will host tournament dark horses Science College Mount Lavinia at the Nittawela Rugby Stadium. The Antonians will be looking for their first win of the season after going down to Royal 10-38 and Trinity 13-49. The Science outfit beat S. Thomas 26-17 and went down in a close encounter to Royal 22-37. Science look a better side going on their first few performances, with a lightning fast three quarter line amidst their ranks. This game will be controlled by referee Aruna Rankothge.
