The Royal Rugby fiesta 2012 which was to be held on the 3rd of November has been postponed due the inclement weather condition prevailing in the country. The organizing committee of the Royal college group of 91 regrets any inconvenience caused.

The new date will be on Sunday 11th of November at CR & FC starting from 1.30pm

The first Royal Touch Rugby Fiesta was organized in 2002 with the prime objective of bringing various groups of past students together in order to promote goodwill and togetherness. This has been an exciting event for the old boys to get-together and as well as to try their hands at their  favorite sport at College. The Royal Rugby Fiesta has become one of the most important rugby events in the event calendar of the Royal College Union from the inception of this tournament.

This year’s event will be held on a grand scale as organizers plan to celebrate the 11th anniversary of the Royal Rugby Fiesta. Rugby matches will start at 1.30 pm and will go on until 8.30 pm. The semi finals &  final matches will be played under flood lights. Spectators can witness exciting touch rugby throughout the evening. An estimated 20-25 rugby teams and 600 spectators are expected for the event.

Matches will be played under the age categories of 20-30 years (Junior Category – for the Summa Navarathnam Challenge Trophy), 31-40 Years (Mid Category – for the Group of ‘91 Challenge Trophy) and 41 plus (senior category for the Senior Challenge Trophy).

Each successive year, the organizing committee had made sure that novel items were introduced to make the event more attractive. This year too several new items will be included.

In case of any injury doctors, paramedics & an ambulance will also be available throughout the event.

This is an event for the entire family with several competitions for the ladies and children. There will be a special Children’s entertainment area which includes a  Magic Show, Face painting, Pony rides, Bouncer, Pop corn, Magic Balloons and Clowns. There will be DJ Music and a Live band in action in the evening.

Several food stalls will also be present at the grounds. Organizers are also planning to have an eye catching Fire Works display to make this event a colorful one.
