The Sri Lanka Schools Rugby Football Association (SLSRFA) will meet at the Lumbini College today in the evening to take number of decisions in the ongoing Singer League 2016.
The Sri Lanka Rugby Referees Association decided to refrain from providing referees for Trinity home games until a formal hearing takes place with regard to the incident which took place at the Trinity vs Science encounter last weekend. Referee Irshad Cader had been verbally abused on his way to the dressing room.
Following this incident, the President of the Referees Association, Nizam Jamaldeen gave a media statement saying that they will not provide referees for Trinity home games at Pallekelle until the formal inquiry is concluded and a decision is taken. Trinity will be having two more home games against St Peter’s and St Anthony’s.
On the other hand Trinity too have lodged a complaint with the Sri Lanka Schools Rugby Association citing poor refereeing at their Science encounter based on video footage. It is reliably learnt that the Isipathana vs Science incident too will be taken up for discussion today.
