Offspinner Shane Shillingford’s five-wicket haul to rein in Sri Lanka A after the hosts had made a tremendous start was overshadowed by legspinner Seekkuge Prasanna’s performance that wrecked West Indies A’s first innings. Prasanna took 5 for 24 in only 15 overs - seven of those were maidens - to leave the visitors facing the prospect of a huge deficit. The West Indies A openers added 44 before the collapse began and they lost seven wickets for 52 runs. Vishwa Fernando and Ashan Priyanjan took a wicket each. Opener Assad Fudadin’s 32 was the top score for the visitors. Sri Lanka A had also collapsed earlier in the day, after resuming on 261 for 2 overnight. They lost Lahiru Thirimanne early for 93, and it was left to Dinesh Chandimal, who made 87, to hold the innings together. Jehan Mubarak was the only one of the remaining batsmen to pass 20 as Shillingford ran through the middle and lower order. Sri Lanka A slipped from 345 for 3 to 413 all out, a collapse that included a clutch of four wickets for six runs. Cheif Scores: West Indies A 96 for 7 (Prasanna 5-24) trail Sri Lanka A 413 (Karunaratne 139, Thirimanne 93, Chandimal 87, Shillingford 5-160) by 317 runs
