Seven players each from the defending league champions Kandy SC and runner up Havelocks SC were named in the initial pool of 20 players for the Olympic qualification sevens tournament which will take place in Monaco on June 18 and 19. Women’s tournament will take place in Dublin, Ireland on 25 and 26 June. Both events winners will book their berth for Rio Rugby sevens in Brazil in the men’s and women’s segment.
The final touring 12 will be named end of this month. The squad is under the watchful eyes of Head Coach Matt Turner.
