www.dailymail.co.uk : They shared a three-month whirlwind romance, but it seems it wasn’t meant to be for Shane Warne and Emily Scott. The 45-year-old cricketer and the 30-year-old DJ and model have called it a day. The father-of-three took to his Twitter on Sunday to announce the news to his 1.7 million followers. “Sad day as @EmilyLScott & I have gone our separate ways. We will always remain great friends & will continue to support each other. “@EmilyLScott Is an amazing lady, a really special person. We wish each other nothing but the best & as I said, will remain awesome friends,” his statement read over two separate tweets. He later thanked his followers for their outpouring of support, writing: “Thanks for the nice messages followers.” Explaining the reason behind the split he added: “Bottom line is, we were just at different stages of our lives. That’s it...” Scott has so far stayed silent on the split and instead took to her own Twitter on Sunday to boast about the “beautiful” day she was having in Sydney. “Very beautiful day in Sydney. Soooo happy it’s heating up!! I’m a winter lover for about three weeks only haha #comeonsummer,” she wrote for her 44,200 followers. Known for their love of sharing their relationship on their social network accounts, it was rather telling that the last time the pair posted any selfies of them together was over two weeks ago at a charity event. The king of spin spent 13 September doing Connor’s Run alongside Scott, taking to Twitter to post a snap of the couple beaming in their running gear. “We made it !!!! #connorsrun 18.8km’s, let’s do it,” he wrote alongside the last ever picture of them together as a couple, holding the Maxim cover girl tight, who is 15 years his junior. Despite Scott and Warne’s short-lived relationship, it wasn’t without its controversies Shortly after they went official as an item in July, Elizabeth Hurley’s ex-fiancé was spotted out and about in London with Sophie Monk. After being grilled by Jules Lund and Merrick Watts, the DJ jokingly inferred on 2DayFM Breakfast that the two kissed. The cricket player denied this was the case, telling KIIS’s Kyle & Jackie O’ “that’s not true, we’ve been friends for ages” and that he’s happily in a relationship with Scott. Later that day Sophie tweeted a mysterious message, simply saying, “I don’t lie.”
