Shangri-La Colombo official host hotel for Ironman 70.3

01Shangri-La Hotel, Colombo will be the official host hotel of the Ironman 70.3 Colombo. Pro-Am Serendib Ltd, the official licensee of the World Triathlon Corporation and owner of the Ironman global triathlon brand, is gearing up to hold this prestigious international sporting event in Sri Lanka, which is the only Ironman event to be held in the South Asian region. 

The recently held press conference for the event was graced by Chief Guest Sports Minister Dayasiri Jayasekara. Scheduled for 25 February 2018, the event features a 1.9 km sea swim, a 90 km bike ride and a 21.1 km run to be completed within a seven-hour period, with all the action commencing right in front of Shangri-La Hotel, Colombo on the Galle Face Green promenade.

Shangri-La Hotel, Colombo is the most anticipated and luxurious new 5-star hotel to open in Colombo in the last three decades. In addition to the ideal location just across from the Ironman 70.3 event, the hotel will also host all major meetings, events and celebrations during this exciting week, making it the perfect choice for guests travelling in from around the globe.

For athletes this will be a personal sanctuary after the adrenaline-filled days of training and the final competition. 

Unlocking a new social and dining scene, the hotel’s five innovative restaurants, lounges and bars will include the only authentic Chinese restaurant in Sri Lanka, a Western-style seafood and steak grill, an interactive all-day dining restaurant, a uniquely themed bar and a lobby lounge. 

Chi, The Spa will offer a selection of traditional Sri Lankan and Asian therapies and will be the perfect place for participants of Ironman 70.3 to rest their tired muscles or relax with friends and family.
