Shavindu 5/17 spins Trinity to a 174 run win

De Silva Right arm spinner Shavindu Amarasinghe captured five wickets for seventeen runs to help Trinity College register a mammoth 174 run win against Rahula College in their under 19 limited over encounter played at the Uyanwatte  stadium on Monday (17). Trinity on being asked to bat first scored 274 runs for the loss of seven wickets. Skipper Ron Chandraguptha scored 80 runs off 85 balls with ten boundaries while Arjuna Jayasinghe chipped in with 60 runs scored off 71 balls with half a dozen boundaries sharing an 89 run partnership for the sixth wicket. Sahan Hendavitharan captured three wickets while Yasiru Hewanadugala was rewarded with two wickets. Rahula lost three wickets to Amrith Srimahan (2/27) and Madhawa Munaweera (1/14) with the score on 26  and continued to lose wickets to the spin of Shavindu Amarasinghe (5/17) (ten overs) and Raveen Sayer (2/28) to end their innings at 100 . Skipper Harsha Rajapaksha scored 20 runs. Trinity 274/7 in 50 overs Ron Chandraguptha 80, Arjuna jayasinghe 60.
