Sixth TTSC Beach Volleyball resound success at Club Bentota

The acrobatic,  Mahinda Premashantha and the robust, Buddhika Priyantha played an outstanding game for Jetwing “Blue”, Negombo, as they emerged as the “Cup” Championship winners, beating the hosts, Club Bentota “A” in the final, at the sixth Travel Trade Sports Club Beach Volleyball Championships 2012, concluded at Paradise Island, Aluthgama last week-end.



Jetwing “Blue” beat Club Bentota “A” in straights, 21/15 & 21/18 in the cup Final.

In the cup semi-finals, Jetwing “Blue” beat Club Bentota “C” 21/18 and Club Bentota “A” 21/18 beat Heritance, Ahungalle 21/19.

Heritance, Ahungalle won the “plate” Championship, beating Club Bentota “C” 21/17.

Club Bentota “B” won the “Bowl” Championship, beating Eden Hotel and Spa 21/8.

Prasanna Udaya Kumara from Sri Lanka Airforce, National Beach VB Coach, who was the Tournament Referee adjudged Mahinda Premashantha from Jetwing “Blue” as the most outstanding player of the tournament, Chameera Prasad from Heritance, Ahungalle as the most prommissing player and TJ Nishantha de Silva from Club Bentota “C” as the most up and coming player.

The tournament for the first time was sponsored by Mount Lavinia Hotel Group and was hosted by Club Bentota, Paradise Island Aluthgama.

Prassanna Sanjeewa, Chairman of the Bentota Pradeshiya Sabaha was the Chief Guest at the finals and the post tournament awards presentation and was assisted by Dushy Jayaweera, President/Travel Trade Sports Club, Udeni E Perera, General Manager, Club Bentota and Chinthaka Daluwatte, Group Director Sales and Marketing, Mount Lavinia Hotel Group in giving away the awards.
