Speed Championship 2012: Round III sure to produce good racing

The ‘Speed Championship 2012’ round three organized by Asian Motor Racing Club is scheduled to be worked off at the Speed Drome Pannala on October 14 from 8.30 a.m. The two rounds held earlier has not shown any driver with a clear indication of the championship except for the SL-GT Cars up to 3500cc where Dinesh Deheragoda is well placed in front with a total of 18 points gained from the two races.

Most of the championship events are evenly poised as the separation between the first and the second place drivers are very narrow and this meet will have to be contested by all in a real competitive manner to maintain their positions or else to go past the leader in their particular events.

At the Speed Championships 2012 the main event known as the Formula McLarens 1300cc class is the event that all spectators and the drivers are looking forward to be the best race as all youngsters who are aspiring to be future Formula drivers. Tharindu Gamage 25 points and Chandima Guneratne with 24 points are drivers who will have to go all out to show their superiority and to move forward in the race for the championship title with only one stage left for decision.

But the other drivers Rumesh Raja Kulendran and Clement Seneviratne , though they are behind the top two drivers Thrindu and Chandima  with a smaller difference of points too are capable of turning the points table with better performances on this day in this class. None can predict the winner of this race as all these are youngsters looking For better future in motor racing specially in the formula class and All can expect good racing by these drivers. The Latest addition to the racing tracks in Sri Lanka McLarens Alto K-10 clas is led by young Praveen Madugalle who has collected the Maximum of points from the past two rounds. The driver behind him Yanik Lawrence with only eight points will not be drive past Praveen. As the points difference between these two drivers are so much and it looks like that Praveen is heading for the championship in this newest category.

Dilan Seneviratne is another driver who is in a stable position in the SL-N Cars up to 1600cc class according to the standings up to round two where he was able to collect 18 points from these two rounds. His lead over his closest rival Pasindu was three. Pasindu ‘s ban will not allow him to compete and it is sure that Dilan can have a smooth drive without much of a competition in this category and get closer to the championship in this category. Meanwhile Dinesh Jayawardene is the next diver to go a step up who is also a driver with a good history behind him

In the Ford Laser/Mazda1500cc class it is another young driver Irfan Fuard who is headingthe list and is capable of holding on to his lead for a further period. His main opponent will be one of the most experienced driver Chaminda Weerasooriya who has an aggregate of 14 points. Sajjad Zuhair, Dhammika Peiris and Susantha Gunewardene are the other three drivers heading their respective categories and they are not going to have much of a competition as they are well placed with a huge difference of points over their rival driver in this class.

As all leading drivers are trying their best to maintain supremacy in their respective classes the spectators are assured of good racing in all categories of cars that will be run on this day here in Pannala Speed Drome.
