Speed Championship 2013 Round 1 on 17 February

The Speed Championship 2013 will commence with the 1st Round taking place on 17 February 2013 at the Pannala Race Track. The qualifying sessions will take place the day before. The races are scheduled to commence by 9 a.m. and will conclude by 2 p.m.

A host of car events together with motor cycle events are planned out. The Formula Mclarens 1300cc event will see 10 new very young drivers who were selected after a comprehensive training program conducted by Asian Motor Racing Club and the Speed Drome Karting Center. These 10 drivers will drive the full season of the championship consisting of three rounds.

“Entries are now open for the Speed Championship 2013 and will close on 11 February 2013 at the Speed Drome Battaramulla. We are accepting entries from all the SLAS approved classes and will schedule the events accordingly,” said a spokes person for the joint organising committee of the Speed Championship 2013.

As in the previous years, the Asian Motor Racing Club will organise this round of the Speed Championship together with the able support of the Ceylon Motor Sports Club, the Carlton Motor Sports Club and the Sri Lanka Army Motor Sports Committee.
