The Sri Lanka Cricket board announced yesterday that portable horns and ‘hooters’ have been banned at cricket venues with immediate effect.
Sri Lanka Cricket said that the Executive Committee arrived at the decision in order to safeguard spectator comfort inside spectator areas of the stadium.
“This does not mean that the papare bands are banned. These are individual horns brought in by the spectators. We will be implementing this rule on Wednesday at the 3rd ODI in Hambantota,” Sri Lanka Cricket said.
The cricket board said that security personnel will search for the above items very strictly and will confiscate the item if found in the possession of a spectator at the cricket venue.
