In a mockery of things and after much heated exchange of opinions, the disciplinary inquiry by Sri Lanka Cricket against Mahela Jayawardena and Kumar Sangakkara over their comments made at a media briefing on their arrival after the T20 championship has been dropped.
The move to hold a disciplinary inquiry came this week after SLC previously went on record that the matter was closed.
The comments were related to the news of Lankan duo’s retirement from T20 internationals.
The decision to hold a formal inquiry sparked a spate of heated emails yesterday between Jayawardena, team manager Michael De Zoysa and Head of Selectors Sanath Jayasuriya.
