The Sri Lanka senior sevens outfit will take wing to Hong Kong in early September 2016 to participate at the Asian Sevens series 2016 first leg which will take place in Hong Kong on 2 and 3 September at the Hong Kong Football Club grounds in Causeway Bay.
The eight-team event will be hotly contested with Asian Giants Japan coming in as the defending champions will face tough opposition from hosts Hong Kong, South Korea and Sri Lanka. Sri Lankan pool will be announced soon after the second leg of the Sri Lankan Super Sevens this weekend.
There will be a Women’s sevens tournament as well which will take place with the same number of teams which will take place at the same venue.
In the Men’s segment Sri Lanka will play Taipei (12/04 p.m. SL), Malaysia (3/00 p.m. SL) and Hong Kong (5/34 p.m. SL) on the opening day.
