Sri Lanka no match for West Indies

Sri Lanka yesterday lost to West Indies in the warm up match ahead of the World T20. Being put to bat first, West Indies scored a commanding 172 for the loss of 5 wickets in their 20 overs. Opening Dwayne Smith top scored with 60 off 48 balls with two 6s and eight 4s. D. Bravo (43) and D. Sammy (unbeaten 30) also made useful contributions. Lankan bowling contingent sans Lasith Malinga who was rested, fared poorly though they managed to make some inroads mid-way. Rangana Herath took 2 for 20 whislt Ajantha Mendis, S. Prasanna and Suranga Lakmal took a wicket each. In their batting, Sri Lanka crumbled against some good bowling especially by S. Narine who took 4 for 24 including two wickets in two balls. D. Bravo captured 3 for 29. Only T.M. Dilshan batted sensibly scoring 43 off 36 balls. Kaushal Perera failed again out for 4, and Mahela Jayawardena was out in the first ball he faced. Kumar Sangakkara (24) and Captain Dinesh Chandimal (14) failed to consolidate their innings. S. Prasanna as well as Thisara Perera failed whilst Angelo Mathews was out for 18.
