Sri Lanka Sub Aqua elects new President

The Sri Lanka Sub Aqua Club, a leading recreational diving club in Sri Lanka, held its Annual General Meeting recently.

Mahen Perera, who is a PADI Master Scuba Diver with over 25 years’ diving experience in Sri Lanka and abroad, was elected President.

The other committee members are: Secretary – Hafiz Zainudeen, Treasurer – Arosha Jayasundera,

Diving Officer – Manjula Wijeratne, Events – Naqeeb Hussain, Conservation – Travice Ondaatjie and 

Webmaster – Sajeev de Silva.

The club promotes recreational diving and conservation. It organises dive trips both locally and internationally and members get discounts at dive centres, hotels and shops. It also has a monthly club night on the last Tuesday of every month were they have programs of interest to the diving community.

The club welcomes new members, both Sri Lankans and expatriates, to join. It will give them an opportunity of diving at the best dive spots around Sri Lanka and also interacting with the local diving community. Further details are available at the club’s website www.srilankasubaquaclub.org.
