Sri Lanka vs Malaysia match

Sri Lanka finished as Plate Champions at the 2nd Hong Kong Sports Federation rugby competition when they defeated Singapore 33-7 in a match worked off at the Kings Park Sports Grounds in Hong Kong yesterday.
Playing in the Cup semi-finals, Sri Lanka were beaten narrowly by hosts Hong Kong, who went on to win the tournament for the second successive year.
Surprisingly Hong Kong, after beating China, Guam and India in their first day’s group encounters, went down to Singapore 21-5 to finish second in their group and book a date with Sri Lanka in the semi-finals.
Sri Lanka beat Malaysia (29-21), Mongolia (52-0) and Thailand (19-12) to emerge as the leaders of their group.
Sri Lanka won the Plate final with a 33-7 win over Singapore, Malaysia defeated China 54-0 in the final of the Bowl encounter and Guam brushed aside Mongolia 27-0 in the Shield encounter.
Isipathana’s Harith Yapa Bandara was named Player of the Tournament.
