Sri Lanka women’s rugby sevens team took wing to Hong Kong yesterday in order to participate at the Hong Kong women’s sevens which will be worked off on April 7 and 8. First day’s proceedings will be at King’s Park Sports Grounds in Kowloon and the last day’s play will be at the Hong Kong Football Club at Happy Valley in Causeway Bay. The finals of the women’s tournament will be worked off at the Hong Kong Sevens men’s tournament which will take place for a record 40th year.
Sri Lanka women’s outfit though under training did not participate at the Chennai sevens due to security reasons. Sri Lanka Women’s outfit will be led by Randika Kumudumali. Regular skipper Thanuja Weerakody will miss out on the tour due to an injury. Team will be coached by Linda Itunu of New Zealand.
